Meet Kevin

Hi, I’m Kevin. You Get Me, Not a Call Centre.

I run K1 IT Solutions on my own from Templestowe, in Melbourne’s north-east. I’ve spent 20 years fixing computers, sorting out networks and building PCs, with over 2,000 clients and 6,000 jobs behind me. There’s no team and no call centre. The person who answers the phone is the person who does the work.
I help households, home offices and small businesses across Melbourne’s north-east and inner east, from Doncaster and Box Hill to Blackburn, Balwyn and Ringwood. That covers slow or broken laptops and PCs, data recovery and backups, email, Wi-Fi and networks, and cybersecurity checks.
When you call, you get me. I find out what’s really wrong, tell you the cost before I start and explain it in plain English. You can drop your device off, book a visit at your home or office, or I can help remotely.
My certifications include MCSE, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, IBM z/OS Administration, ITIL and COBIT. I explain what they mean for you in the next section.

Qualifications

Training and Certifications Behind the Work

Twenty years of hands-on work is backed by formal training. Here is what each certification covers, in plain English, and why it matters when I look at your computer or network.

My Approach

Repair, Upgrade or Replace? How I Decide

Not every problem needs a new computer, and not every old one is worth saving. I look at the age, the fault and the cost, then give you my honest recommendation before any work starts.

Worth Repairing

A good machine with one faulty part, like a cracked screen, a tired battery or a failed drive, is usually worth fixing. A repair like this can give it years more life.

Worth Upgrading

A slow computer with sound hardware often just needs a tune-up, more memory or a faster drive. That is usually far cheaper than buying new.

Time to Replace

If the repair would cost close to a new machine, or the computer can no longer run supported software, I’ll say so and help you choose something sensible for your budget.

Computer, Laptop and IT Support in Melbourne

Tell me the problem and I’ll point you to the fix. I’ll give you a price before any work starts.

Slow, Noisy or Won’t Start?

I find out why, explain it in plain English and fix it. If it isn’t worth repairing, I’ll tell you so.

Lost Files or a Dying Drive?

I rescue what can be rescued, then set up backups that actually run, so it doesn’t happen twice.

Wi-Fi Dropping Out or Too Slow?

Dead zones, slow speeds, routers and cabling, plus small office networks designed, set up and fixed.

Worried About Scams or Viruses?

I check your devices, accounts, backups and passwords, then give you a plain-English action list.

Need Email on Your Business Name?

I register your domain, set up matching email addresses and move mailboxes without lost messages.

Buying or Building a Computer?

Honest buying advice, custom PC builds, and Windows, Office and antivirus licences set up for you.
